Mic Solace

Mic Solace is a solo musician born February 7th, 1996 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His music is a marriage of acoustic, pop, rock and urban styles. Currently, Mic Solace in production of his sophomore album, Amethyst.

Mic Solace was raised by his father and grandfather, both being guitar players themselves. Even so, he never took an interest to guitar, until a childhood friend of his introduced him to Guitar Hero, then began the addiction. And like most gateway addictions, this progressed into learning real guitar. Using tabs to learn popular songs, primarily rock, metal, pop-rock and pop-punk songs. At this time, his favorite influences were Metallica, Senses Fail, From First To Last, Avenged Sevenfold, Chiodos, Bullet For My Valentine, Red Hot Chile Peppers, The Killers, Panic At The Disco, Motion City Soundtrack, Say Anything, Blink-182 and the likes.

The style of his music began to change soon after his son Max was born in early 2012. He began playing and listening to primarily acoustic music. Naturally, It’s a lot harder to play metal with a baby crib in the room. From Enter Sandman to Mr. Sandman, he began exploring his own hybrid style of guitar playing. A mix of metal inspired 2-guitar harmonies combined with a classical melodic sound.

His musical style changed again after Max’s first birthday, when a string of unfortunate family events came about and led to Max being across the country no longer under Micheal’s custody. While this eventually proved to be a for the best, as this forced him to find stability for his family, this event is still responsible for Micheals decent into depression. Roughly 4 years went by before he gained full custody back for his son, during that time was a relationship held mostly through phone calls. This was a painful time where guitar went from his hobby to a coping mechanism. This change in his life became the emotional, melodic, classical style you find in his music now.

In the year 2019, music became more of a serious endeavor when he learned his music was finding its way in front of people thanks to various collaborations and features. This is when the name Mic Solace was born.

Mic Solaces new influences are often derived from videos games. From oldies to electronic to Japanese music, these were all put in front him through gaming. Some of his favorite artists came from Indie games like Child of Light or Transistor. Others from AAA affairs such as Bioshock, Mafia, Forza Horizon, Yakuza and others.

While quite the avid gamer, that’s not Mic Solaces only hobby. Since he went to school for digital design, he found to love art of Photography and Film. On the side he’s helped local artists like CAID, Facing Allodox (Formerly D20) and others with Music videos, short videos and other promotional content. He’s also photographed/filmed weddings, art galleries, concerts and other events.

Through these artistic avenues he’s also found a love for technology. In his downtime he loves learning about new technologies and upcoming trends. He used to spend hours customizing his self-built gaming PC and customizing whatever Android Devices he could get his hands on. In 2018 however, he jumped ship over to the Apple ecosystem to more easily pursue music, graphic design, photography, video production.

In 2023 Mic Solaces debut album ‘Sapphire’ was released. It is a collection of the trials Mic had undergone to that point. Touching on subjects such as losing loved ones to drug addiction, being separated from your family, losing a childhood friend, struggling with relationships due to depression to name a few. While the music is entirely composed on guitar and piano, Sapphire is a combination of various genres used to best express the stories and arc found within the album.

After Sapphire, Mic began combining the two things he loves, video games and music. Mic started creating covers to popular games while working on new material. A new strategy for a new era. It took 4 years for Mic to compile the skills to become a producing artist, from 2019 to 2023, Mic learned how to use Mac OS, Logic Pro, to Mix, to Master, to advertise, write and compose full songs. Looking ahead Mic plans to use those skills to pursue a more aggressive release schedule with yearly content and music.

Today you can find Mic Solace almost everywhere, from TikTok, Instagram, Youtube and Twitter, to Spotify, Apple Music and Soundcloud.
